Requirement
Replace a pharmaceutical client’s outdated, existing Sales Force Automation system with a web-based solution that included Interactive Voice Response technology. The Pharmaceutical Sales Activity Manager was developed as the new Sales Force Automation system to be used by the client’s 800+ pharmaceutical sales representatives. The development of this system required captured activities of sales representatives like samples dropped, presentation made and sharing notes. Another requirement of the system was to provide various business intelligence reports like doctor, prescription and plan data for each sales territory, which helped to target the sales focus. Real-time and roll up reports were required by management to determine sales performance and to devise any changes required. Solution
Infobahn provided project management and the architectural design for the whole application. Infobahn’s consultant developed and supported the Sales Force Automationweb-based solution using ASP.NET, C# andSQL Server, which was load balanced to give optimum performance at system peak usage time. The data mart was designed and developed to capture large volume and periodic IMS data feeds. Pro-clarity (3 dimensional pivoting), Excel and reporting services reports presented prescription, sales call and weekly/monthly trend reports. Share Point Portal used Active Directory group authentication for various reporting.

The new application provided cutting edge tools and reports to the client’s middle management, allowing them to see various trends and align their sales force strategically, to gain maximum results and to be highly competitive. Reports from the data mart enabled upper management to make important strategic decisions for company growth. The sales force representatives are able to develop reports to target customers (doctors and hospitals) to gain maximum sales quotas.
